Among our vineyard rows, each grape variety is a voice within the same story.

They change with the wind, breathe the light of the sea, and preserve gestures that have belonged to this land for centuries.

A heritage tended with care and patience, in a mosaic of varieties that speak of identity, tradition and research.

Varieties born millennia ago and others that have learned to adapt, finding a new balance in the oldest land of Sardinia.

Red Grape Varieties

CARIGNANO

The soul of Sulcis, its most ancient and modern voice.

The emblematic grape of the wine region, loved and described by Giacomo Tachis, who understood its greatness when it was still almost ignored. It is a variety that has found its natural home here: in deep sands, cradled by the Mistral and nourished by the breath of the sea.

Carignano del Sulcis gives fruit of natural concentration, silky tannins and surprising longevity.

Its wines are dark and luminous, rich in Mediterranean maquis, balsamic hints, black cherry, liquorice and dark spice. An ancient nobility, expressed with contemporary elegance.

MONICA

Mediterranean softness.

A gentle, welcoming, deeply Sardinian grape variety. Cultivated on the island since the nineteenth century, Monica grows in the cooler soils of Sulcis, producing grapes with direct, open aromas and a sincere character.

Its wines are supple and fruit-driven, with notes of red fruit and a light spiciness.
It is a grape variety that embodies the elegant everyday nature of island grown wine: smooth, food-friendly and extremely versatile.

CANNONAU

Balanced power, an identity rooted in place.

The island’s most famous grape variety, known since the sixteenth century, finds an elegant and decisive interpretation in Sulcis. Here Cannonau shows substantial structure without ever becoming aggressive, thanks to the well-ventilated climate and soils that allow regular ripening.

Aromas of red fruit, aromatic herbs, myrtle, and a balsamic hint that emerges with maturation.
It is a grape variety that speaks of strength, but with measured pace. Robust, never rough; Mediterranean, luminous.

BOVALE SARDO

The dark depth of the Mediterranean.

Bovale: a name with a long inheritance. An ancient red grape variety, vigorous and complex. In Sulcis it takes on a more measured, harmonious character, thanks to limestone soils and the influence of the sea.

Cultivated for centuries in the island’s countryside, it gives intense, spicy wines with notes of ripe plum, black pepper, liquorice and resinous herbs. Powerful yet elegant when handled with care, it is often a protagonist in the most structured cuvées.

White Grape Varieties

VERMENTINO

Sardinia's iconic white, interpreted in the Sulcis way.

The most widely planted white variety in Sardinia’s ampelographic heritage. Born on wind-kissed coasts, shaped by salt air and silence, Vermentino finds a perfect balance between aromatic lift and minerality. The sea gives it salinity and tension; diurnal shifts give it finesse.

Notes of lime, rosemary, white peach and a savoury finish that recalls the sea breeze. It is a vibrant, modern white with immediate appeal.

NURAGUS

Ancestral freshness, one of the island's oldest white varieties.

An historic grape variety, already present in the Phoenician era. At Cantina Santadi it finds an ideal habitat in alluvial soils and the windiest areas, where it preserves its natural acidity and natural drinkability.

In the glass it opens with freshness and purity: citrus fruit, white flowers, almond and marine notes. The palate is lean, balanced and refreshing. It is an essential white, elegant in its precision, perfect for those who love tradition.

NASCO

The memory of south-west Sardinia.

Extremely ancient and not widely planted, Nasco is one of the region’s rare treasures, among the oldest on the island. Historically cultivated in the warmest and driest areas, it gives seductive wines rich in floral aromas, notes of honey, aromatic herbs and white spices. The palate is soft, rounded, at times velvety.

It is a grape variety that surprises through elegance and subtlety.
Delicate in the vineyard, complex and generous in the glass, it offers intimate and compelling expressions.

CHARDONNAY

Eleganza internazionale nel Sulcis

Coltivato in appezzamenti mirati, porta equilibrio e freschezza grazie all’esposizione costiera e ai terreni sabbiosi. Un tassello moderno che dialoga con la tradizione.

Ungrafted Vines

The miracle that survives only in a few areas of the world.

Here the vine grows on its original European roots, ungrafted, sinking into the sand as it did before the arrival of phylloxera.

What "Ungrafted" Means

The transformation:

from harvest to bottle, between ancient gestures, technical choices, the legacy of masters such as Tachis and the daily work of our winemaking team.
